Louise joined the orthodontic team at Queensway Orthodontics in April 2012. She graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 2004 with honours and was awarded the British Dental Association prize for her academic achievements. She completed her vocational training in Teesside before becoming a Senior House Officer (SHO) on the Oral and Maxillofacial unit at Sunderland Royal Hospital. In 2006, she was awarded a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Louise then worked as an SHO in Newcastle Dental Hospital where she was able to gain further experience in the sedation, restorative, paediatric and orthodontic departments before moving to a general practice and the Community Dental Service. She then embarked on specialist training in orthodontics at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. As part of her training she completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with distinction.
Louise is also a certified provider of Invisalign® and a member of the British Orthodontic Society and European Master of Aligners.
What do you enjoy most about working for Queensway?
Working with such a great team, everyone is enthusiastic and strives to do the best for patients.
Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
I can be found in the clinic planning orthodontic treatments for patients and providing supervision for the therapy and nursing team.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The smiles at the end of treatment.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Spending time with my husband Will and our children Daisy and Huw.
What makes you smile?
A cup of tea with a dunkable biscuit.

Jonathan studied Dentistry at Newcastle Dental Hospital and graduated in 1998. He gained further experience in a variety of dental specialties post-graduation, prior to embarking on the 3 year specialist training in orthodontics in the North East of England, gaining a Masters Degree which he passed with Merit. This training allowed Jonathan to sit the specialty examination at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and he qualified in 2004 and is a registered specialist with the General Dental Council. Jonathan has also undertaken a further two years of training in the management of complex multidisciplinary orthodontic patients, passing his fellowship examination in orthodontics in 2007
Jonathan is a NHS Consultant Orthodontist at Newcastle Dental Hospital where he treats multidisciplinary orthodontic patients with facial deformities and complex needs. He has an interest in new technologies in orthodontics and is a certified Invisalign® practitioner.
Jonathan is also actively involved in teaching and training of undergraduates and postgraduates at Newcastle Dental hospital as a consultant level. He is also active member, examiner and advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
In his free time Jonathan enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with his wife Gemma and his family. He’s al`ys enjoyed the fresh air, whether that’s skiing the haute route, hiking Hadrian’s Wall or even tackling the weeds in their allotment!
Jonathan is on the Orthodontic Specialist List and is also an active member, examiner and advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Sara graduated from the University of Leeds with distinction in 2013. She gained further experience through hospital posts including a year dedicated to Paediatric Dentistry in the North Yorkshire region and a year of Oral Surgery in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department in Manchester.
She then completed three years of specialist orthodontic training at James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough. As part of this training she completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with distinction and gained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
How long have you worked at Queensway?
I am a new member of the team having joined in October 2019.
What do you enjoy most about working at Queensway Orthodontics?
Getting to work alongside a highly qualified team, with a strong teamwork ethic, to deliver high quality care to patients - and our morning orthodontic team huddles!
Where would a patient usually find you in practice?
Surgery 10.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing the confidence and happiness a new smile can bring to a patient.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Cooking new recipes and spending time with my husband, family and friends.

Sunshine, good food and ticking everything off my to-do list.

Guy is a specialist orthodontist at Queensway Orthodontics. This means he has completed an extended period of training in orthodontics, in addition to his general dental training. Guy qualified with honours in dentistry at Newcastle University. After working in a number of hospital oral surgery positions in Manchester and London, he completed his specialist training in orthodontics at Guy’s and Kingston Hospitals in London, where he was awarded the Professor Walther prize in orthodontics.
As well as leading the orthodontic team at Queensway Orthodontics, Guy is a visiting specialist to the Orthodontic Department at Newcastle Dental Hospital, where he is involved in teaching trainee orthodontists and dentists.
Guy sits on the Orthodontic Specialist Group and the Conference and Meetings committees at the British Orthodontic Society. He was also involved with the organising committee for the 2015 International Orthodontic Congress in London. He is an invited member of the Invisalign® advisory board and the editorial board of Orthodontic Practice magazine.
Guy’s clinical interests include adult orthodontics, orthodontic treatment for woodwind and brass musicians, and the use of lingual and self-ligating fixed appliances. Guy is a certified provider of Incognito lingual appliances and Invisalign® clear aligners.When not at work, Guy enjoys spending time listening to and playing music, as well as spending time with his partner Katharine, son Eli and daughter Anouk.

Heidi graduated from Queen’s University, Belfast in 2008 and during this time she also completed an intercalated BSc in Anatomy. Heidi gained further experience in different areas of dentistry including oral surgery, paediatrics and restorative dentistry post-graduation and during this time attained Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. In 2012, she embarked on specialist training at the University of Sheffield/Royal Derby Hospital and was awarded a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (Merit) and obtained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
How long have you worked at Queensway?
I am the newest member of the team having joined in November 2017.
What do you enjoy most about working at Queensway Orthodontics?
Working with a team of very experienced and highly skilled clinicians.
Where would a patient usually find you in practice?
In surgery with a very big cup of tea!

Colin graduated with honours from Newcastle University in 1999. He attained his MFDS qualification at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2002.
During his training pathway Colin has gained wide experience with positions as a Senior House Officer at Newcastle Dental Hospital, followed by a post in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Newcastle General Hospital.
Colin completed his specialist orthodontic training as a Registrar at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, attaining his Membership of the Faculty of Orthodontists at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2007. During his specialist training Colin researched a novel method to reduce the risks of demineralisation during orthodontic treatment as an MSc project, which was passed with distinction.
Colin is an Invisalign® provider, he also works in partnership with some of the region’s leading Restorative and Implant Specialists in treating complex multi-disciplinary cases.
Colin is on the Orthodontic Specialist List and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society.
Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
In surgery, planning patients’ treatment and supervising our fantastic team of therapists and nurses.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing patients smile when they have their braces removed at the end of treatment.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
My wife Lisa and I have 2 daughters and we spend a lot of time in the Lake District, enjoying the outdoors and fresh air.
What makes you smile?
Skiing with my girls in Whistler, Canada – our favourite place in the world!

Jonathan qualified as a dentist attaining his honours degree (BDS) at the University of Manchester in 1986. Jonathan then went on to specialise in Orthodontics and qualified as an Orthodontist in 1995 from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, attaining his MSc qualification.
Jonathan is a member of the Faculty of Dentistry (FDSRCPS) and has worked in all sectors of dentistry, having run his own private orthodontic practice since 1995.
Jonathan previously worked part time for IDH from 2013 before joining Queensway in April 2020.
Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
In surgery, but wherever needed!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing patients young and old grow with time, often associated with the confidence resulting from our treatment journey transformations!
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
I play the French horn semi-professionally. I play in a number of orchestras locally and also as a soloist.
What makes you smile?
People, music and sunshine!!

Kathryn graduated from Newcastle Dental School with honours in 2009 and was awarded the British Society of Restorative Dentistry (BSRD) prize for her clinical work, and the British Society for Paediatric Dentistry (BSPD) prize due to her interest in clinical research regarding the oral health of children and adolescents. She then completed General Professional Training in 2011 before going on to work in general dental practice and teach undergraduate dental students on the Newcastle Dental Emergency Clinic.
Kathryn then spent a year in Australia working as a dental officer and clinical supervisor for undergraduate dental students at Queensland University. Upon her return to the UK, she gained further experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery and orthodontics working at Altnagelvin Hospital Northern Ireland, before moving to the Community Dental Service in Northumberland. Kathryn then completed three years of specialist orthodontic training at Newcastle Dental Hospital. She completed a Masters in Orthodontics at Newcastle University, graduating with distinction, and gained Membership in Orthodontics at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2019.
Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?
In surgery planning patients’ treatment.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Happy confident smiles at the end of treatment.
What do you enjoy doing out of work?
Spending time with my husband and little girl which usually involves walks in the countryside, strolls on the beach and dancing to music around our kitchen!
What makes you smile?
Family time, sunshine and good coffee.
